Happy 28th Birthday Ben!

Well, my poor Ben has not had the best birthday. He should be in Las Vegas right now, but last night he woke up violently ill and can still barely get out of bed. He had to miss a test today and I changed his flight so he will fly out with me on Saturday. Hopefully I won't get sick too! Birthdays are kind of a big deal around here, so I was disappointed I didn't get to follow through on my plans this morning, maybe I'll recreate the birthday moment when he's feeling better. Anyway, happy birthday to my sweet husband! It's the ninth birthday we've celebrated together and each year is better than the last. I love you very much. And of course a happy birthday to Ben's twin (or very slightly older) sister Lauren! Hope your day was better than your brother's!

Mason in Pictures

Hello all! Since returning from Newnan, I haven't had much time to update the blog, sorry for those of you requesting pictures! Mason was able to go home on Monday, October 13 and was doing so well he didn't need to bring home a lamp or anything! I was there with two of the grandmothers to help welcome him home, but had to leave the next morning which was very sad for me! For more pictures, click on the picture of Mason to the right and it will take you to my online album. Thanks for all the well wishes!

Mason Update

Mason did not get to come home today, he is severely jaundiced and is spending the night under some very bright lights tonight. My step-mom and I are at Billy and Mandy's, doing little things to help get ready. We hope he'll get to go home in the morning. Right now I'm going to sleep because it has been a LOOONG couple of days and it's all catching up to me. Goodnight! More updates later!

Mason is here, and he's perfect!

Mason arrived yesterday, while Georgia was beating Tennessee (and yes, the game was on in the delivery room, not just the waiting room, the delivery room). 7 pounds, 4.2 ounces and he's beautiful! I don't have time to go into much right now. I'm at Billy and Mandy's cleaning up a bit, we're hoping they will get to come home tonight, they are just waiting on some tests to come back! Baby looks like Mom and Dad. More like Dad yesterday, more like Mom today. It's amazing how they change so quickly!

Baby Mason is on his way!!

Billy called me a little after 7 this morning to tell me Mandy's finally in labor! I'm throwing some things together and jumping in the car, I really didn't think he was going to be here until Monday when they were going to induce, but I should have remembered babies don't operate on your schedule. I guess my sweet nephew just wanted to be born on game day, that's my little Bulldog!

Thick as Thieves

This is what happens when I try to move the comforter for a few moments so I can put sheets on the bed. What michevious kitty cats!

Come on Mason!

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my nephew Mason! His due date was yesterday, but he's still snug as a bug in Mommy's tummy. At her appointment yesterday, Mandy was still not dilated at all. The doctor is going to give her through the weekend, and if she does not have him by Sunday she will be admitted to the hospital Sunday night and induced Monday morning. She really wants him to come on his own without being induced, so say a prayer he comes this week! And say a prayer that I can get down to Georgia in time for his birth!

Rain, rain, go away

I've been feeling a little blue lately, so my friends and husband teamed together to help me cheer up! Yesterday afternoon this was delivered to my office from my wonderful Atlanta friend Elizabeth...
I would like to note here that she did order an arrangement called "Shades of Pink", but since this is the country I guess they didn't have a large enough selection of flowers to come up with enough pink, but they did pull together several beautiful flowers for me.
After work I went to my Tennessee friend (well, really Minnesota friend) Heather's house where she fed me yummy Starbucks coffee she brewed, along with delicious snacks. We had a great couple of hours talking and being entertained by her three year old Ben.
At home, Ben decided it was popcorn and movie night. Ben makes the best popcorn in the world! No bagged popcorn for him, he buys the kernels, pops them in olive oil on the stove, and finishes it off with Jane's Krazy Mixed Up Salt. You may think we're crazy, but it's the best!

So we gathered the ingredients...
Popped the popcorn...
Filled our favorite popcorn bowl...
And settled down in our P.J.'s to watch...
...NOTHING! Turns out, the latest DVD from Netflix had a crack in it, so no movie, whoops! We ended up just watching T.V. and reading, but it was still so fun! Ben uses every spare moment to study, so it was nice to have a weekday night to just hang out and enjoy each other. I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful husband and such wonderful friends! I'm not sure what I did to deserve you, but I'm keepin' all of you! Thanks for all the love!

Black Saturday

Well, we were all ready to go for Georgia's Blackout against Alabama on Saturday, but it turns out the Dawgs were the ones getting blacked out! I'm glad we don't have a game this weekend so we can recover! We changed into red halfway through the game, and it seemed to help them score but not quite enough. I'm blaming it on Ben, he realized too late he hadn't put his Georgia belt buckle on!

Even Anthony joined in the spirit and dressed in black!
The first game day on the new T.V.
UGA VII in his black high def.
"Oh Lord, please make it stop..."
Nelly was unfazed by the Georgia loss and cared only about playing with her red and black football beads.
