Bip's 80th Birthday
In March we celebrated Ang's grandfather's 80th birthday. Ang's mom and Aunt Susan planned a wonderful celebration with an Academy Award theme, since the Oscar also turned 80 this year. Bip was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award. The first picture is Bip with his Oscar and Leading Lady, Grandmother (AKA Nancy). The next is Ang's step-dad Royce interviewing "nominees" on the red carpet. Here he's asking Grandmother how is feels to be named the "Sexiest Woman Alive"! Isn't she beautiful? There aren't many grandmothers cool enough to wear a red leather jacket, and one that my grandfather bought her! Of course, when I was little I used to call her a "Rock and Roll Grandmother"!
Loved your blog about Bip's 80th birthday. It was quite an honor and Bip is still floating in the clouds. It was great having all the family there - missed Ben, though. Bip replayed the evening over and over again - and the c.d. too. It was truly amazing. There seems to be another man in the bed between Bip and Nancy - his name is Oscar! This was a surprise birthday party but Bip calls it a huge shocker. It truly was a surprise. Thanks to everyone involved for all their hard work and love.
