A Proud Tradition
Dr. Williamson, MD, one of the medical school professors and a former Air Force Major swears in Ben and his classmate, Joel. This is the exact same oath taken by the Vice President of the United States.

It's official. A close up of the lieutenant bars. This picture was taken per Bip's request. Great suggestion! Also notice the Air Force tie.
Lieutenant Goins and Angela, a proud officer's wife!We are proud to announce that Ben is officially a 2d. Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He swore to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic yesterday at a ceremony held at the medical school where Dean Stowers and other faculty members stopped in to witness the festivities. Ben is excited and humbled to continue the tradition of military service from both of our families. Ben will go to officer training during the month of May and then serve three years as an Air Force doctor after his residency training is complete. This is a part of the Health Professions Scholarship Program that Ben was accepted into earlier this year. Ang was able to participate in the ceremony by pinning the bars on Ben's collar. All the pictures were taken by Ben's dear friend Anthony, who has already sworn in as a 2d. Lt. and will be with Ben during officer training in May in Montgomery, AL. Please pray for us and our future as a military family!
Congratulations to Ben. He is a fine addition to the U.S. Air Force. He has what it takes to be a great office and to be a great doctor. We are very proud of him and his accomplishments. I'm glad to see he was saluting a sergent, but I''m not so sure about the tie. It was a great thrill to see the Lt. bars on his collar. We are very proud of both of you and hope you have continued success. We love you both.
